Just seen a car leaving the CG with the number plater n ran63r.

You'll get Byrne JCP all over excited again. Good news for Kleenex I suppose.

Newcastle fans wouldn't mind him seeing some first team action (much like us with Macklin before he broke into the set-up), but they don't seem particularly excited about him.

He does also say that signing are not far away and expects loan signings.

Probably just a case of giving Billy a bit of confidence

Exactly - he's hardly going to say "Christ if we start the season with just that carthorse up front we're fucked" is he?
<disclaimer>No, I'm not saying Paynter's a carthorse</disclaimer>

Paynter was outstanding at Luton.....but he needs a foil/finisher...and it aint Macklin...

If he gets two reasonable strikers then i reckon we will have a good side - not great - but good and hopefully we wont struggle like last years shite.

One of the players recommended to Danny is Terry Gornell (Tranmere) from Peter Shirtliff i think.  Whether we get him is another thing though

I heard a rumour we are looking at a youngster from Tranmere, Terry Gornell a 20 year old striker who has attracted interest from Premier League teams, Shirtliff is known to be a big admirer of him.

Definately more than a rumour but i'm not sure Tranmere are willing to let him go so easily.  I think they have big plans for him this season

Only way Macklin is going to get better is by playing games and as Paul said, Wilson is hardly going to come out and say "ah well we are fucked as we have no strikers but lets have a go and hope that the other teams cant score any goals either"
