Might be worth looking a bit lower in the leagues like Ross Allen at Guernsey (137 goals in 103 games) who I have mentioned many times in the last 2 or 3 seasons, also players like Lee Gregory at Halifax who has scored 15 goals this season and 60 goals in the last 3 seasons in under 100 games.
Or maybe give Kayden Jackson a go in the first team, he seems to have done well at Supermarine and Pox City.
A prolific scorer can grab goals at any level they play as Charlie proved with us and several other lower league prolific scorers have done through the years.

Or even Connor Waldon who has done well at Gloucester.

Looking at the Barnsley bench, there were two strikers named - Thomas Cywka (25 years old) and Jason Scotland (34). Cywka came on and Scotland didn't. We've been linked with Jason Scotland before I'm sure? But I can't see Cywka leaving Barnsley on the basis that he's been far more involved. Can't really see a striker on the Brum bench that we'd be in for either.

He wasn't on the bench but Akwasi Asante was on loan to Shrewsbury earlier in the season and could be available? We should probably wait for Chang before speculating wildly though!

We should probably wait for Chang before speculating wildly though! Sound advice, but I felt a bit let down that Chang wasn't all over Ben Gladwin...the opportunity to sing a long to the Dave Clark Five.... I'm feeling Gladwin all over etc when he scores, was surely too important to keep under wraps.

Who was that (Irish?) lower league player he had on trial, scored a hat trick in a reserve game. Don't think we signed him but someone like Orient did?

Yeah he went on to play for Darlington, Gateshead and West Aukland and get a bad injury at Darlington. http://www.thejournal.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/whirlwind-12-months-darlington-john-4431400But no he isnt the Irish striker you are thinking about that was a lad that scored loads in Northern Ireland, was about 6 foot 4 and had shedloads of pace, can't remember who he was, but I think it was Danny Wilson who tried to sign him but he got an injury as well during the trial and it was terminated.

I don't remember too much about him but usually there is a reason why non league players are non league players.
For every Charlie Austin there are probably 200 John Campbell's Although in theory the gamble can't be a hugely expensive one.
