agreed but TAH and JayMac, are? I'm working on the basis there are no arguments over Fods, Ward and Nate Dog who all have new contracts.
I presume both TAH and JMac are also benefitting from PdC's largesse - I have no opinion on TAH as I have never seen him play. Ward took a cut to keep on playing here and NT obviously proved himself last season when on, probably, a youth contract. Fods has probably been promised a move next year - depending on how we do this season (which is fair enough). It'd just be nice to actually get all the hangers-on out the door

Would Benson or Caddis be on more than TAH or JayMac but the first 2 are out of favour whilst the 2nd two are still pickling up their money. Seems a bit odd.

Quite possibly Caddis as he was captain, may have had a clause written into his contract whereby he matched or bettered the highest earner in the squad, incidently making him the highest/joint highest earner...again, it's a hypothetical situation, but if that scenario was the case, the club wouldn't be able to lower his wage after he was demoted from captain or it would be a breach of contract on their part..

Theres a lot of rewriting of history going on here. PDC certainly had his faults but its amazing that we finished in the league 1 play offs (and had a shout of automatic promotion before shit went down) when he only signed a handful of decent players and some of those that left having played regually are "league 2 players"
What I can't argue with is that some of them were/are paid too much.

The players I referred to are actually playing in League Two....if they're worthy of more, why aren't they playing higher? I'm not suggesting for a second that they're not decent players, but if they were as good as SOME people make out, wouldnt they be plying their trade in a higher division?

Certain managers are capable of getting better results out of players.

I love the differing opinions....people get to certain conclusions without knowing people personally...
People make their own conclusions; some based on supposedly facts (e.g. tv / newspaper write ups) and others on pure speculation (or their hatred of the guy). IMO, both should leave now and progress their careers, allowing Swindon to progress thier replacements

We don't know what Blackpool offered, what he's on here or why he turned them down.
Blackpool announced that they could not match his wages and there was a problem with an agents fee also, so that sort of tells you everything as Kerry Red suggests.

So a Championship club, recently relegated from the top flight, couldn't match the wage he was getting from a league 1 club, recently promoted from the basement division? Not throwing any stones at Caddis, but it certainly emphasises that our player recruitment and retention under Wray et al was definitely unsustainable as soon as Black got bored with his toy....

No but then it has been reported Blackpool run within strict budget guidelines Obv Caddis thinks he is worth more than a relegated prem team do Either way the situation is ludicrous, IF Caddis has refused to play for us again then surely he is in breach of contract

People like Ferry and Devera were easy to get rid of as they had the one year option on their contracts, which we didn't take up....not that it's a big loss, for me, I think there's a reason why they've ended up in League Two....along with Roberts & Miller...yeah they were good players, but were they the type of player that should be pushing in the top half of League One?....
Yes. Roberts was at Hudds when they went up and IIRC was awesome, hence the TEF excitment when he joined. Ferry was part of the Play-Off loosing season and was awesome in midfield in my opinion. Devera? A good enough back up player who could cover the majority of posistions across the back. Don't think I ever saw Miller play..

That is stupid and you know it. No logic at all, there are players in almost every division around the world who're too good for it and should be playing at a higher level but aren't for whatever reason (Loyalty, just been relegated, settled..). Why is Bale (at the moment..) Still at Tottenham? He's too good. Why was Austin still playing for us up until January (He was good enough to leave and go up in the summer). The point is just fucking retarded.

I think the glaringly obvious pointing you're missing is they were players pushing for the top of League One, he'll we were top of League One. Say what you like about their post Swindon careers all you want but those players nearly got us promoted. Will we get that close to promotion this season with a few players contract to a top 5 Premier League club, will we bollocks. Lets also not under estimate that managers can and do have positive effects on players. We had one who was very good at it. Stoke are a Premier League club and we ripped them to shreds last year...
