Roberts is from Northwich which is only an hour and a half away from Fleetwood. More money and closer to home.

If it's more money, a longer contract and closer to home, perhaps that matches him ambitions perfectly?  How many people want to move across the country, away from their family, for less money and less security?  That would be a strange ambition indeed.
