You seem to be confusing Stroud with Strood. Stroud is part of the Cotswalds and is known historically for its involvement in the Industrial Revolution. Strood is part of the Medway Towns and is known historically for people fighting each other, being chased by people that want to fight you, watching people fighting/chasing other people. Also Rod from Rod, Jane and Freddie has a shop there, and The Buff Medways wrote a splendid song about it called Strood lights.
