Hes a good keeper .. but the offer he had was a bit derisory considering he had been player of the season and Blackpool offered double .. he regrets it now.

He's not a good keeper though.......Reading the article Evans says Wise didn't even bother to contact him when he took charge so obviously Wise realised that was not very good too thankfully. Both Smith and Brez are substantially better keepers. If Evans ever came back here it would be a step back. The only reason people ever thought he was any good was because he played for the England Under 21's but by the end most people were losing patience with him.

Fatbury thinks he's good because he was in his under-10s team or something.

Aaaah so he feels guilty for being partly responsible that Evans isn't very good.....has he tried getting Pook for his under 10 side yet?

I still rate him ... will be interesting to see how he plays tomorrow thats for sure. If we do sell Brez or Smith next season he would be a good replacement for a free transfer

And fatburys love of Rhys Evans still burns as bad as it did the day he left Swindon.

I think I've almost come to the conclusion that Fatbury is part of BEST Holdings. I mean he loves Pook too another shocking player so wanting to sign Evans who is likely past his best is another example of his BESTness

I dont understand why some of our fans hate him so much.  He moved to a club in a higher league for a more money on a longer contract after a few years of decent service.

When Evans played for QPR at teh CG around 02...think Jerome Thomas scored a fairly memorable goal for them....he was getting called sheepshagger by the less cultured denizens of the TE, due to the obvious Welshness of his name... it proved futile to explain to the masses he was from Swindon.  I was giving him stick for being from Swindon and never having played for us.

  Back to sheepshagger tomorrow then.

Rhys is a good keeper at League 1 level, not good enough for championship, and is a all round top bloke

Dont forget Rory Fallon would have walked Player of the Year if we hadn't sold him-Evans won it by default as did whoever won it(Shaun Taylor I think) the season we sold Fjortoft

It is a disgrace Evans ever won player of the year. I only realised how rubbish he was when we signed Brez on a free transfer.

To me he is persona non grata at the CG. Yet another player who was directly responsible for our relegation and refused to take any blame for it whatsoever.

He is a model professional. So is Jack Smith. Both were players were starting in 05-06 and neither are/were good enough for this level.

Didn't Taylor win it the year we sold Shearer, too?

He'd be a good keeper at Conference level.
