No disrespect to the people who have met him/know him and I'm sure hes a nice chap however he has come out with several different statements on different occasions so I can see why people are not his biggest fan.

I won't be giving im any abuse tomorrow at all but I won't be going mad showing my appreciation for him either. In my eyes hes just another thats come and gone.

The reason he had a poor spell at Blackpool was because he played on with a groin injury as all their other keepers were injured and as a result wasnt really 100 percent and as a result made a few bad errors - the fans turned against him and he eventually stood down to have the operation (double hernia!) and Rachubka took his place after he recovered from his injury ...

I still rate him ... will be interesting to see how he plays tomorrow thats for sure. If we do sell Brez or Smith next season he would be a good replacement for a free transfer

Of course he deserves abuse tomorrow. He's the oppositions keeper for fucks sake. You've got to abuse them as much as you can. Don't give a fuck about the article, a load of bollocks from both sides.

Also he's a bit shit. And if fatbury says otherwise he's wrong.

Janaage- hope this informal enough! IIRC, it came down, as it always does, to length of contact and financial terms. We wanted Rhys to stay on, but on terms we could afford- Dennis was convinced he could get another keeper in (I think we had Phil Smith on board by then), if we couldn't agree terms, and Dennis' priorities were on other areas of the team. Rhys was made a good offer by Blackpool, and we couldn't match it, and there were no hard feelings when he decided to move to Blackpool.

Blackpool fans are among the most bitter and twisted I have ever come across. I'll bet they're still banging on about when Wellens got sent off for fouling Igoe.

As for Rhys Evans... never rated him. People would say "for all his faults he's a good shot stopper...". Of course he is, that's why he's a goalkeeper.

He can't kick and flaps at crosses, so looking forward to tomorrow.

Hes a good keeper .. but the offer he had was a bit derisory considering he had been player of the season and Blackpool offered double .. he regrets it now.

And fatburys love of Rhys Evans still burns as bad as it did the day he left Swindon.
