I received a call last night that one of my credit cards had been used for two successful transactions and another transaction stopped by the card security team, all they asked me when telephoned me last night at 8pm was if I had used my card for these transactions and my age at next birthday. The first two transactions were made the day before and the third was tried minutes before they contacted me.

First transaction was for £745 in a electrical store in Manchester.
Second transaction for £1,205 in a store in Bolton.
Third transaction stopped, they tried to use the card this time for over £2,000.

I have not used this card for two months, have never used it on line, it has never been out of my sight when I take it out and is normally sitting in my little bank at home if I dont need it, I have never given the security numbers out on the back of the card, and never used it at a cash machine. I also shread all my credit card bills.

Makes you wonder how the hell they got hold of my details.

Not sure if I now have a battle to prove it wasn't me who has made £1,950 worth of transactions.

Had the same happen but with people buying Jewelery in India.

I have to say I was in London Saturday and thought about getting a mate to go on a shopping spree with my card ,getting loads of stuff and then pretending to the card company that it wasnt me. Cheesy (I didnt do it but how would they catch me?)
