You are having a laugh, get rid of 2 players who hopefully when fit will be a match for anyone in this league, yes we know Roberts is inconsistent, but if he was consistently good he would be in the championship by now, and Corr when he has played has looked a really good player, unfortunetly he has had a few injuries but hopefully when he comes back he can stay fit and make a real difference in the 2nd half of the season, he is a big target man who will probably come good.
I think some people need a realilty check, we are a L1 team with ambitions of promotion, these 2 players are good enough for L1 and Corr possibly for the next level if he stays fit, so to get rid would be a bit daft....and is not something clubs tend to do to injured players - they help them recover and then watch the player pay them back on the pitch for standing by them.
I'm sure I will get flamed for this response though ! you wont get flamed for it but i have put in bold the reasons why, Look how many ifs and buts. As for standing by players you are Joking right? Do you seriously think This club has not stood by these two players enough already There's always a doubt when a player comes back from injury, can he regain his form, is he fully fit ? Time will tell but I do beleive that these 2 players will be able to make a difference.

I don't think DRS is following the same line of thought as other people.
The options are: 1) pay X amount now and get rid of Corr and Roberts or 2) pay X amount gradually over the next year and hope we might get some use out of them.
Therefore, it makes sense to keep them.

I think the point is that if we pay them off we do not pay them as much as they would have earned over the next year.

I think the point is that if we pay them off we do not pay them as much as they would have earned over the next year. That is making the assumption that they will an accept the lower offer and be willing to look for a club at Christmas time when they are not fully fit though, which I know I wouldn't be too keen on doing

true, but it means they can go somewhere else, get paid on top of the lump sum they have been given and get first team football.

Yes, but they have to agree to being paid less than the value of their contract wouldnt they?
Why would a player who is long term injured agree to that?

they may not if it is long term, but if it was just a couple of months it is probably in their interest if another club is willing to take them on.

Brezovan was attracting intrest from Spurs & Celtic etc, would it be possible Newcastle could come knocking? Wise loves him, Given always injured, Harper average, Krul still very young

I think MM should be looking to ship out just about anybody he can....certainly the fringe squad players...maybe he is, within the constraints of their contracts. The likes of Comminges should have had his offer withdrawn by now.

For me Comminges is worth a very good contract, if he has not signed yet, then up the contract, he is definitely worth it but make sure he signs for three years so if a larger club comes in we cash in as well.
He is one of only three I believe are better than Div 1 players.

Because although a good right back is better to have than a bad one....its still the easiest position to play on the pitch. Top dollar goes to good strikers, creative midfielders or dominant centre halves. It was the beginning of the end for John Gorman when he shelled 600K for Mark Robinson.
