...well very little. Nevertheless their appeal, tribunual thingy starts today.
I'd like to see the panel decide they got off lightly and throw them out of the league. Unfortunately history suggests that money talks in these circumstances so Leeds will probably get, if not all, some points back.
Which is going to make a right mess of the promotion race.

I can see it now. They get the points back, go up automatically and Carlisle drop to third place from where they lose horribly in the play off semis. Then they appeal.
As you say - messy. The best solution would be to give Leeds no points back at all, and for them to then lose horribly in the play off semis.

When Leeds win their appeal, and I beleive it is a when, I sincerely hope the FL are taken to court by the clubs and fans affected by the decision.
It would make a mockery of the whole season if the league table changed this close to the end of the season through the FLs incompetence.

What ever happens in football should stay in football imo. Why has this gone to the high court, the judge probably knows nothing about football.

Why has it taken Leeds thins long to appeal? Is it simply because they now realise they can get auto promotion with the extra points?
If it was a moral issue they would have done it sooner.
Or are my assumptions erroneous.

Your assumptions are indeed erroneous...Leeds actually signed a bit of paper saying they wouldn't take recourse to legal action, then promptly did so. Bates claimed it was teh only way to start the season, so it was a sort of blackmail, in his opinion contrary to natural justice.. Rather than dragging it through the High Court, both parties agreed to this binding arbitration.

But it was blackmail really wasn't it? if they did not sign it they would not have got the golden share which allows them to play league football.

They shouldnt be allowed to appeal and if (and lets hope not) they do win he points back they should only be given them next season or something
Otherwise like someone said - it makes a mockery of the whole season

Maybe we should try and get our division back from 1990?

My understanding was that it was a High Court writ that forced the issue. I don't know much about law, but couldn't it have been issued sooner?
Iknow Bates explored other avenues first, but it seems the threat was always there, the action only happened recently.

Don't think they'll get more than 5 points back.
