San Francisco was a real let down for me, full of junkies and tramps, La is a fucking pit. Hong Kong was quite cool in a totaly odd sort of way.

Mexico City is hit and miss, its like marmite. love or hate it. I really liked the different cultures that made up Auckland and I also really liked Bangkok.

Loved Barcelona, a weekend was not long enough.  Salvador in Brazil was another great place to visit.  In the UK I think Norwich is very underrated!!

Rome is a great place! Love it there!

And as Lady said, Reykjavik seems like it would be an awesome place to visit.

I don't know why but recently I've been wating to visit somewhere glacial, maybe in Norway. Perhaps just because I've never been anywhere like that before.

I climbed Franz Josef in NZ, was great fun, really enjoyed it, other than the hole in my boot and falling down a slope of ice.

I never really understand New York - it's a complete dump

Even 5th Avenue is a bit of a shithole, so shopping can't be that great - besides you can probably get it cheaper on the internet

So give me another reason to go?

The states has never appealed to me at all.

Im suprised no-one has mentioned a Safari/Kenya/Tanzania - possibly the best holiday I have ever had.

The only problem with Americans is that it's full of them...

I just went around New York with a lot of fake tan on and a large rucksack on - it was so quiet everywhere we went

I thought Athens was brilliant, for visiting purposes at least.

I've only been to four places outside of Europe but, as you've listed two of them, I will give you my considered opinion that Vancouver is spectacular and Manila is not (unless you like chaos and pollution... many people do at least like the former).

Hong Kong is a big one for me I've only been there in transit.

St Petersburg is fantastic and well worth a visit in the summer.  I'm not one for architecture but there is a whole street of palaces that are breathtaking and you can get a fantastic meal for pennies.
