Is this becasue when Sturrock used to do it it was well recieved ?

Fair play though, if he has to do things to endear himself to supporters then fair play but ultimately he will be judged on results and 2 wins in 11 is not a good start....he needs a few more wins before the end of the season to give us confidence he is the right man to give this job a good go.

Is this part of a charm offensive after a load of fans complained to Nick Watkins after the Tranmere game that Malpas just walks down the tunnel and hadn't acknowledged Town supporters in the whole time he'd been here. Nice to see Watkins has had a quiet word and told him to try and improve his image....

This is exactly why he cant win you moan when hes doing nothing and then when he does do something it must be because Nick Watkins had a word with him, this frustrates me    Why don't we concentrate on the positives like our winning run of 1 in 1  Wink

But by all accounts alot of people were apparently slightly pissed off at Tranmere that he didn't even acknowledge the fans and Watkins said he'd look into it and this is obviously part of outcome to try and improve MM's image. Being fan friendly doesn't seem to come naturally to him which seems to be part of the problem, people don't relate to him.

Some people learn from their mistakes.

But anyway, he acknowledged the fans at Luton away, and pretty much every game I've seen. But focus on the negatives if you want...

Even during our poor run he maintained his dignity, that earnt him a lot of respect from me.

Plus just because Sturrock was very fan orientated doesn't mean every manager has to be the same.  Look at Wise he used to refer to us all as punters and barely acknowledged us but few would argue despite only a short period here he was still succesful.

And say what you like, no-one could ever accuse Bart of wearing rose-tinted glasses.
