Ace....takes me back to the mid 70's when Swindon College specialised in Iranian blokes.  They tended to be the offspring of pro Shah western types, with a fair bit of money.

There were a fair number of local birds, with a taste for the exotic, who either signed up or would have signed up for a life in Tehran.   They all suddenly disappeared when the Ayatollah took over

No they didn't! There were still a few there in the early to mid '80's when I was there. They never seemed to leave or gain any qualifications. They just went on year after year signing up for different courses. Who knows where they all ended up.

 I'll make enquiries.

Yep,  its crap.  But you do get the get the odd North End, County or Wanderers thrown in.

Speaking of which Notts County, founder members of the FL , are in great danger of joining the O*ford League.  I believe their supporters were the most stressed in that survey in which we finished 5th.  Hard time to be a Magpie. (A pastry confection with a mag in it innit)

I know Real means royal...but the bit I don't get is that when Franco was dictator they were out of the picture.

As I recall, after Franco died, the Royal Family were brought back.  So I always assumed they were exiled during the fascist years.

 You learn something everyday.

You'd have to say that Juan Carlos has done a decentish job....related to Queen Victoria mind...which may account for it.
