Good effort by Vale. If rumours of us doing similar are true then I'll be well happy.

The Bradford model must have made everyone sit up and take notice!

They are having a good go at trying to get more in but have no chance, given the clear lack of interest in the football team - and the impending relegation

DACHAUER....the point people are trying to get through to you is that Bradford are averaging 14,000...halfway down lge 2.Vale are going down so can expet around 4000 max....with this idea they will prob get 7 to 8000 every match with all the extra revenue that you get with bums on seats, itsnot rocket science and is the way forward,in fact teams like boro, wigan bolton should do it so the real people....the fans, who cant afford to go will maybe fill there half empty stadiums they get for most matches.

No I entirely understand the point and idea, but my point is even with the lower prices, they will still not attract the gates required - even though it will provide added income. For example they will probably get 4500 to 5000- which is a vast inprovement on their gates currently but not enough to provide substantial returns required.

Dachauer is right. Vale are very poorly supported in terms of numbers at home. Even in the mid 90's in the old div 1 they only averaged 6,000 with all those away fans.

I do have respect for Vale though. No hangers on there. Proper lads club. Fair play to them if they do it. It was £18 behind the goal this season so they needed to do something.
