By the level of homophobia at brighton on saturday, in my book its the same level as racism, coupled with the behaviour of swindon fans kicking in a nightclub, kebab shop and lap dancing club on saturday night in brighton, the name of swindon is fucking mud down here today. the amount of people that have said things to me today is fucking horrible.

i felt like a cunt for supporting swindon town today and it seems like our town is stuck in the middle fucking ages.

i await your fucking hilarious homophobic quips.

I'm never sure what homophobia means, but it is certainly not in the same league as rascism. Should two blokes decide to indulge in some sodomy in private that is their business, after all they are only indulging in a sexual perversion and in my book that is no big deal.
If they were discreet about the matter it would help but when people go on about gay rights and civil unions for enthusiasts of this particular sexual perversion they are getting the matter way out of proportion.
Tolerance is one thing a town full of benders is quite another.

It's taken me hours of researching, but here's a few clues...

Especially this bit:

Quote
Theorists including Calvin Thomas and Judith Butler have suggested that homophobia can be rooted in an individual's fear of being identified as gay.[citation needed] At least one study indicates that homophobia in men is correlated with insecurity about masculinity.[30]

They have argued that a person who expresses homophobic thoughts and feelings does so not only to communicate their beliefs about the class of gay people, but also to distance themself from this class and its social status. Thus, by distancing themself from gay people, they are reaffirming their role as a heterosexual in a heteronormative culture, thereby attempting to prevent themself from being labelled and treated as a gay person.

This interpretation alludes to the idea that a person may posit violent opposition to "the Other" as a means of establishing their own identity as part of the majority and thus gaining social validation. This concept is also recurrent in interpretations of racism and xenophobia.

Nancy J. Chodorow states that homophobia can be viewed as a method of protection of male masculinity.[31]

Various psychoanalytic theories explain homophobia as a threat to an individual's own same-sex impulses, whether those impulses are imminent or merely hypothetical. This threat causes repression, denial or reaction formation.

Do gays die if after they prick you? I guess they would if they had the aids, but then you would die too and with bees that normally only happens if you have an allergic reaction.

Perhaps flash isn't a homophobe, he just has an allergy to gays. Do you think flash breaks out in a rash if he goes within a 50 metre radius of the pink rooms? Perhaps flash doesn't like Corrie characters either.

Maybe flash just had a bad experience when he was younger? If I'd been attacked by a swarm of gays as a kid then I'd probably have a fear.
