lets face it, a number of factors contributed to us losing last night. The penalty gave them impetus - I think without it Orient would have had aneough to break us down. also, had cox scored - some go in, some don't - we would have taken a 2-2 draw.

The fact of the matter is we will win some, we'll lose some, especially given we have players out. Last night was a shame, especially because they looked so poor. But other than the spell that saw us go behind I thought we looked ok given the team we had out.

I agreed with ashikodi coming on, but not at McNamee's expense. Maybe instead of sturrock, or easton?

The thing about MM that has puzzle dme is against Leeds Roberts was the only player looking to threatened Leeds, so what does he do, take him off.

Same last night McNamee real dangerman, so he takes him off.  Why?

One is injured and the other one hasn't been fit enough to complete a full match

The thing is Si if you had seen MacNamee last night there was no incline that he was struggling whatsoever to come off.  He was constantly on the pace and on all cylinders from what I could tell.

I have thought this too. I guess nobody knows the extent of his asthma though. How risky is it to play him for the full game if he is not strong enough? I am no doctor so only guessing.

If Roberts was injured with a niggle that could get worse I don't see why he didn't start Zaaboub in the first place. Ho hum.

Sturrock always made brilliant subs didn't he?

I'm not comparing Malpas' subs to Sturrock but it doesn't change the fact taking MacNamee off was odd.  I could understand if he was struggling. Its just a mystery but I think MacNamee could have played on a bit longer based on what I'd seen.

We're putting all our eggs into one basket by playing down the wings all the time. Teams have realised this and now take action. It takes someone like McNamee and a bit of brilliance to get anything out of games.

Remember when Sturrock first took over and it took us ages to get the proper wing plays after playing quite narrow football before this. In fact I seem to remember the phrase "this is Wise's team" being used a lot. The same applies here imo.

However, I've no doubt Sturrock is a far better manager and that's why people are pissed off. Maybe they should aim their frustrations at Fitton?

MacNamee would not have passed his medical if it was thought that he consistently could not compete for 90 minutes.

It was much better under sturrock.

We won all our away games and played amazing football and all the players gave 110% effort....................

I think Sturrock did get more out of the current bunch - mainly because those players suited his tactics more. I get the impression Malpas would prefer more balance. We will see what happens I guess.

Although I didn't go, it sounds like this one decision to sub a player didn't cost us the game alone.

Isn't there some odd fact that Mcnamee has never completed a first team game in his career?

I've got no issue with being beaten by a better team Mr Tuck, in this case it doesn't really stand up to scrutiny because Orient were bollocks!

I'm not saying they were a better team on the night, I;m saying over the course of the season they have proved themselves our better.  Therefore it's entirely possible for such a team to come out after half time break and really manage to exert some pressure and control over an ever so slightly lesser team made a little comfortable by a lead.  It doesn;t have to have anything to do with our own performance.

Sorry Si you miss my point.  McNamee was subbed which though strange, is fine.  What surprised even more than him taking Arnold off, was the fact that he did nothing to cover the position McNamee was playing.  There was just a huge space for Comminges to cover.  The midfield didn't cover it, one of the three front men didn't either.
