Forest at home was ok, so was Cheltenham and I thought we were unlucky yesterday.

We're going to have inconsistent results, given our inconsistent team, new manager (Again) new players, etc, etc.

I think we should just try and get as high as we can, forget the play-offs and hopefully build in the summer for a genuine push for promotion.

If we can do it under Malpas, great, if we can't I'm sure Fitton will recognise the fact and take appropriate action..............

I think we were doing much better under Bryne than we are under Malpas, still he wouldn't of got the job i don't think.

Malpas just doesn't seem like a manager, an assistant at best i think.

I thought we were pretty shit when Sturrock left tbh. We were on a really bad run of form and I think we were in the same position we are now, only maybe 1 or 2 places higher. Not as great as everyone seems to think it was.

has he done anything good for us since he got here?

signed Cox which by the sound of it was down to Fitton. Signed McNamee who looked decent in 1 game, Moses has been poor, Kanyuka injured again and the reason QPR let him go.

I think McNamee has been promising. He's only played a handfull of games for us so maybe we will never see him find form, but maybe we will. His fitness was improving with every game so I think he's a hard worker. Kanyuka is a backup player and the only reason he's gone to league one is because of his injury prone-ness from the sound of it. Could be an Ifil in the making if he stays fit though.

He is 'rumoured' to have upset the dressing room, fell out with Zaaboub, played McGovern in the middle, Easton on the right and left, dropped Brez and played this shit 4-3.5-2.5 formation and got us knocked out the cup by barnet. When sturrock left we was looking like play off rather than relegation, Malpas certainly changed that

to be fair good result home to Forest, although how many times does a team score 2 own goals?

We lack creativity in the middle so McGovern was put in there to see if this could rectify the issue. Unfortunately it didn't so he was put back on the right.

Brezovan had made mistakes before he was dropped. We were shipping silly goals. Taking him out for Smith wasn't an error in Malpas' thinking, not dropping him after making us worse at the back would be mind you. I want to see Brez back on Tuesday.

We have never looked like play off material. I think the only worrying thing is the dip in home form. Easton on the right was a bad idea, but I think Malpas is still trying to get used to our players strengths and weaknesses. If you put McGovern/Roberts/McNamee/Zaaboub on either wing they only get slated anyway.

Bollocks! I'm sick of hearing this because it simply isn't true. We were mid-table then and we're mid-table now. You may think we "looked" a better side then, whereas I'd say we were inconsistent then and still are. Very little's changed. But that's opinion so let's inject some fact into the bullshit shall we?

As of November 27th we were 11th with 23 points, the same amount as Crewe and Huddersfield in 12th and 13th. We were 3 points off the play-offs and 4 points off 20th (as it was earlier in the season, the gap between the play-offs and relegation spots hadn't widened quite as much then). So we're in about the same position as we were then. We weren't tearing up trees then, we aren't now. The jury has to still be out on Malpas and I don't know whether he'll cut it but this idea that we were playing the finest football ever to grace the CG under Sturrock and just a few formalities away from European glory is, I'm afraid, utter shite. What's different is that people had confidence in Sturrock and they don't in Malpas so Sturrock could use that to paper over the same cracks we're still seeing now.

It does seem that some are rewriting history to back up their view.  We have never looked like a play off team this season.  Under Sturrock, Bryne or Malpas.

I think one of the problems with appointing malpas is that he hasn't exactly united the fans, cant think of a previous manager who didnt have his name sung by the crowd. Why does Fitton having money make him a better judge on choosing a manager? I hope im wrong but cant see Malpas being the one to take us forward.

Fully agree with Paul D.

After the last few years, at the start of the season I would've settled for survival and a mid-table finish. It was always a long shot for the play-offs after the poor form from mid Oct to the time the takeover happened just before Christmas, yet just because the Adver has said for the last few months that the play-offs were on, a number of supporters have bought this 'hook, line & sinker.' Fitton said they were on a 3 year plan to get into the Championship, so a season of consolidation suits me down to the ground, especially after all the fun & games off the field over the last few years.

How many league games have we lost under Malpas?
Is it 3?
Leeds - A team that would be second if they didn't have points deducted.
Forest - 4th in the league, 5th if you say Leeds are above them.
Walsall - 5th, would be 6th.

So we've lost 3 league games, to top 6 sides. Which means were playing like a mid table team - because we are one.
We are not good enough for the play offs, we also wont go down.

I seem to remember people saying Byrne wasn't the right man for job after similar amount of time.
Also that was leeds first win in 7 games.

I think the 80% bollocks has gone into overload tonight. Give the bloke a fucking chance, he's only just dipped his sporran in the loch.

Or something.

It's the wrong sort of bollocks though. Not the good sort of bollocks which should be encouraged. You could say that this style of bollocks, whilst technically being bollocks, is disfigured and disease ridden. Maybe featuring on a Channel 5 documentary entitled "When bollocks go wrong!".
