I know this is already a known issue at the club, but the stewards seem to have gone from one extreme to the other now.

A few months ago they were shocking for the way they dealt with the home fans, i.e. making a huge fuss out of 10 or so people standing up at the back of the Arkells stand and also for the way they physically man-handled people during the protests.

But yesterday when there we Leeds fans in the Arkells stand they did absolutely nothing! I think that's completely unacceptable. When Leeds scored their first a bloke in the Arkells stood up and started celebrating, a few blokes noticed and made him known to a steward. The steward said "Yeah, I've seen him" but just let him sit there and did nothing about removing him.

A while later, some idiot (another Leeds fan sat in amongst Swindon fans) decided to get up and have a go when some lads were singing 'We all hate Leeds scum'. Now firstly, that bloke is an idiot. Secondly, the stewards stood by and did fuck all. About ten blokes surged towards him to confront him and only then did the stewards step in - but were having a go at the Swindon fans rather than taking the Leeds fan out.

It's absolutely absurd that our own stewards are quite happy to have a go at our fans telling them not to stand up, go back to your seats, don't say this, don't say that etc. But then when there are away fans in home areas who provoke reactions the stewards don't do anything.

to be honest, I didnt see it but seems a bit of a fuss over nothing.

a few people sat in front of me were leeds fans, thick accents and they cheered when Leeds scored....didnt jump up....but celebrated.

They werent mouthing off, they werent inticing anyone.....they just watched the game....not got a problem with that....end of the day its another ticket sale.

also there were others blatantly wearing leeds clothing being let in the arkells too.

I have, it pisses me off if we are losing and some cunt starts cheering for the opposition. I want to be amongst my own.

If somebody gets a slap then tough luck for sitting in the home end.

don't really see why they needed to be in the home end, there were a few hundred empty seat on the bank so for the 'massive' club they make themselves out to be they didn't even sell out

Because their away tickets never go on open sale - they have a season ticket scheme for away games as well as home games, because, I'm afraid, they are a big club in terms of their support. No matter how much it may rankle, it's undeniable.

And they did sell out. Its just loads were standing in the aisle behind the goal.

Where i was sat in the Kingswood Stand there were two lads who casually walked up the steps and took their seats with pints in their hands.
Not that I'm moaning, I think the stewarding at Swindon is very reasonable considering what has gone on at other clubs.

On another note, I was detained outside the ground by a copper with a dog for 'coin throwing'. He asked me to stand by the car then asked his colleague if 'I was the one' - his mate shook his head and looked at him as if he was stupid, he then apologised to me and said by way of explanation that they'd received a description of the offender that fitted me. The description was, and this a direct quote, 'Someone in a Jacket'.
