problem with roberts today was that he was the only threat we consistently looked like we were going to have

I think some of you are being harsh. We outplayed them and we created more chances than them in a tight game.

That said,  3 points is all that counts. They took there chance. Cox wasted ours and Roberts was saved.

My only moans  are a) the system seems devoid of width, though clearly a new system and playing narrow isn't necessarily a bad thing b)s Roberts looked fucked for the last 10, I though it was crying out for a sub.

Exactly, we needed a winger on the right, seemed like no one was playing there. Easton was there at times but why the fuck should he be anywhere near the wing ffs.

Good performance though, all the players looked up for it this time (except Roberts) and we really did deserve something from the game. Just knew when Cox missed that sitter it wasn't going to go our way  Sad

Watching leeds today was a lot like watching us last season. Not flashy, but well organised and tough to break down. A lapse in concentration by us, they take their one chance, and in reflection their keeper was rarely troubled from then on. We had all the possession in the 2nd half, but lacked ideas in the final third. Our main plan was to give the ball to roberts, but he got found out by the leeds defenders: he's all right foot.

Allen did ok. Looks abit lightweight for that position just in front of the defence, but showed nice touches. He always made himself available for throw ins too which was nice to see.

Smiths kicking was rubbish. He looks absolutley shot of any sort of confidence at the moment. The ref gave every single 50/50 their way, which was frustrating. He wasn't as bad as was made out by some of the fans though.

Malpas' lack of a third subsitution baffled me, would love to know the reasons why. No doubt the Anti-malpas brigade will be on later, blaming him for todays defeat. It wasn't his fault. More composure in front of goal, and more urgency in the final third, and we'd of got at least a point today

I agree. I thought we played well and deserved a win.

I dont think some of you get it. The reason we outplayed them in my opinion was beacuse we played narrow, with easton tucked in and often dominated the midfield.

Of course its all malpas out, as the mongs on the radio have just been saying so we can ignore the positives. would people be saying sturrock out if he had picked that team and formation?  would they fuck.

In terms of MM's decision making today the only thing I would have done different would be to have subbed roberts for McNamee with 15 left. That said their right back, Kenton, played very well.

The front 2 also played very well and worked their arses off

Fact is Malpas has achieved nothing. He was the cheap option and proving exactly that. Play offs are over, lets just hope we stay up.

Firstly I doubt he was cheap, secondly we were never good enough for the play offs in the 1st place.

He was the cheap option FACT, or we would have Ling in charge, a Town hero with a proven track record. They went with Sturrocks mate FACT who has made us look shit. Im sorry anyone who thinks he is the best man for the job is a cunt. We should have been there abouts in the play offs, but we wont be now. FACT!

The thing that has annoyed me is, we had one shot on target (it could have been 2 but I can't remember the second).  One shot on target, ffs, we were the home team, Leeds were appalling yet we troubled their keeper once!!! (maybe twice).

Not knocking MM or the team but that is not a good stat.

I thought Smith's distribution was poor, the defence apart from the goal looked okay.  Miguel when he did get forward looked a threat.  Robbo again slagged off by people near me, but at least he was a threat.

Cox and Paynter worked hard for little results.  Easton was alright, but didn't impose himself on the match enough for me, Peacock was mediocre, Chris Allen looks a real prospect.  He is everything Mr Pook is not, likes to get the ball down, constantly trying to break up play, given more time in the first team and he'll get better and better.

Not great to see JPM spend most of his time during his warm up happily chatting away to one of the Leeds' subs.  Plenty of time for that after the final whistle.

That had more to do with a lack of guile, creativity and a good leeds defence than any lack of intent on our part
