I'd just like to mention I dont have faith in most of the players either. They were hit and miss under sturrock and still are now.

Why did he say that? Probably because the BBC Swindon guys asked him about it - as I think they are entitled to do.

I don't think I've ever had less confidence in a manager so quickly.

McMahon was pretty loathsome but he did the bare minimum (for a while) in getting us back up, albeit pissing our parachute payments up the wall to do so. Long term he was a cancer that should have been cut out way before he was.

So what are the arguments for Malpas - other than he is already there and we should give him time? The fact he looks slightly like a sorrowful manatee? (ok I am squinting a bit...)

I've no problem with the logic of MM's decisions.....its the sort of thing an incoming manager has to do,  but I'd like a little thinking outside the box. Maybe Chris Allen is it.

(as this seems to have become the most recent Malpas thread)

However much you dislike Mr.M,  there'd be absolutely no advantage gained from sacking him now.

If we finish below 16th or below at the end of the season then maybe. It's a difficult line to draw. Even if we do poorly this season,  should we give Malpas a proper go in charge next season, or should we  cut are losses and give a new manager a proper pre-season to play with. I'd go with the former, not only has there been far too much disruption this year (even for a generally turbulent cllub), but we'd probably be looking at record levels of manager changes. I'd like some stability.

Interestingly, if you find my opinion interesting for some reason. I reckon that we've got enough of a backbone to the squad that Andy King could probably get us at least to the Play-Off's with a few signings.

Van der Linden (which King's dislike of is one of his only poor attributes) and Miglioranzi were both better footballers than anybody we've got in our current team. Ian Woan was a better footballer than any player in our division.

I honestly can't see anything wrong with what he said in the article.

We have got a load of hyper critical fans who get on players (And the Managers) backs way too quickly imho, all of whom are under the delusion that their opinions are right and the managers wrong.

Malpas has been here 5 minutes FFS! If a 'name' manager had come in, I think people would be showing a lot more patience, but because he's not high profile he's being given no time at all.
