Donegan era.  Interesting fact about those accounts is that they where compiled by the current board, ironically yet to manage to publish one set of accounts since they took control on a technicality.

Out of the three amigos Donegan came across very well.  Brady quite simply bottled it and Blatchley was the man without a plan.

It’s funny looking back, basically what Donegan had proposed is pretty much what the current board have actually done and manage to screw up in the process.

What strikes me reading that, unless anyone can correct me the “consortium” have never invested one million, administration regardless.  Carson’s line of “investors” where right behind Elton John in the queue for the post gig bukakke party (google image search  Wink Johno).  They have managed to show in the process same sort of courteously they have done to the Trust over the Ticket price proposals.

To be honest Donegan was a bit of a rudderless ship.  He was left in control by default and was not a footballing man .

But with the financial state of the club as it is, we can't afford to turn our backs on 300k!

we cant afford to turn away any money. most clubs budget for mid-table and because of this, i cant see us mounting a promotion challenge. funnily enough i had a quick look at the financial reports of a few years back today. anybody who says they are incomplete and barely make any sense are absolutely right!

What eras and any linkage chief?

This pre-season is going to be all about King.  Not only is he the man to do the signing but he is going to have to but his testicles on the line and argue the toss over wages with the board.

Devlin was a footballing man and managed to do quite well barring last year when he was on the way out.  King is going to have to come up against Sandy Gray who if Carling made incompetant accountants they would probably have copyrighted Gray years ago.

i'm afraid you need an ATHENS subscription password to view the info. all i can say is that post 2001, there are no accounts for the football team and we were 5.5m in debt

Our debt was over seven million at one point.

I think selling Parkin in the summer is the best option, he wants to leave now, if we keep him any longer, we'll end up getting nothing.

The ironic thing is part of the current board where responsible for that debt pre-Brady anyway.

One million defecits each year Vs the current half million.

However, loans from shareholders jumped from £40,000 in 2000 to £1.7million a year later.

Keep him till January.

If we look like we're going to get promoted (say top of the league) then keep him till the summer so he can seal the promotion.

Then I'd bet my house he'd sign a new contract.

But sell him if we are like we are this year.

Brady 'bottled' it because the other two were apparently taking money from the club

I can't understand how Donegan came across well? He states "there was no point putting money it to something that was going nowhere." and yet he was quite happy  for the club to take a massive risk (which completely backfired) spending millions of it's money on Ruddock, Evans and various unaccounted expenses including payments to himself and then not put the money forward to pay for it.

Take a look at this later newsletter from the trust. http://www.truststfc.co.uk/pdf/newsletter04_01_02.pdf

Not a footballing man and yet it was him that made the catastrophic decision to sign Neil Ruddock on huge wages of over £200k a year.

He admits he was interested in the club purely as a property developer interested in the profits to be made from the front garden, which is similar to what some are accusing Diamandis of however Sir Seton and family are clearly lifelong fans unlike Donegan and they at least have the clubs best interests at heart.

Carson's investors were presumably largely made up of the Seton Wills family.

Brady, Donegan et al were completely unrealistic, spent money which wasn't there and took massive gambles which cost us millions, the current board are not perfect but certainly an improvement.

I voted sell him now only because I could not bear to lose him for nothing especially if we have a fruitless season where his goals would not count for anything.

I say gamble.

Take a risk... If it fails (knowing our luck it will), it fails... It'll take more than selling Parkin to get this club financially straight.

Sell him now. We need to build a new team and stop relying on one formidable player

Keep him till January. If we're top of the league and looking like going up he'd probably be interested in extending his career here.

If we're still shit come Jan then at least get some cash for him. Let's give ourselves a chance eh?

Well as much as i would like to see him be replaced for a lot of money, apparently he is staying with us, with a BIG new contract if he accepts, so we may see him go for free next year
