Watched this last night, thanks caveman, it was quality. "Footballers have to be mindful of their role and never be ostentatious in their spending, always be neat, tidy, respectful to the ordinary fan" etc. Bit different from the Ashley Cole/Kieron Dyer/Lee Bowyer generation. Nice to see rare footage of Fred at a game when still in his mid-20s as well  |

Note to Mr Fitton: 'Six Days to Saturday' is pure STFC gold - even for those of us (unlike Reg) too young to remember 1963. If you manage to get it in the club shop, I'm sure it would sell quite well.

In fact, even though even I was not around at that time (not quite), I almost want to cry when I watch it. I think it's because that's how I would like life to be now. It's definitely how I would like football and footballers to be now.

I'm watching it now - for the first time. It's fantastic. That is exactly how I want the players to be now too. At least it would cut down on the rumours.

Spot on, Just watched it and it was brilliant. I especially enjoyed the shots in and around the CG. 18k for the visit of Orient? Good crowds in those days. "Boy Wonder" Donald Rogers Other than the '69 video, never seen any other clips of him. Was that a great run for his first assist or what? Cheers. |

It looked packed with 18k, how the fook did they manage to get another 10k in there? You'd get an announcement over the tannoy, "there's a lot of people still trying to get in, could you all move along to the middle" Then there were bits of structure you could climb up... along the back of the Shrivenham Road there was a walkway, behind girders holding up the stand, you got a decent view from climbing up there, there was a a sufficient gap between the cladding and girders, unless you were a fat bastard. Floodlight pylons were climbed up and the back of Stratton Bank. |
