Bit late but did anyone watch this on ITV Sunday morning?  They did a rerun of a show from 1983, main feature Liverpool vs Ipswich. I wonder if this is going to be a regular thing.  Three things you couldn't help but notice - pass backs to goalies allowed, tackles that would be an instant booking nowadays not even warranting a free kick and noone abusing the ref (apart from Souness).  Oh and the ridiculous shorts

I saw last week's match when it featured Man City V Spurs. Game ended up 2-apiece.
I think Andy Caton's dad was playing for City.
Garth Crooks looked as freaky back then as he does today.

It also left me thinking who the feck were we playing that 1st week of February 1983 and would we ever be featured.

I discovered we were getting dicked 3-0 at Crewe in Divsion 4.
Meh.

Tell you what, the Scottish game (Celtic Aberdeen) was more of a spectacle.

Got it on series link. Bring it on.

Im only 25 and I remmember clearly when the backpass rule was introduced. It was probably 9 years after those games.

Weve got no chance of getting on in the early 80's. Maybe late 80's. Think we were featured v Bournemouth one year. But that was BBC. Dont know what date it switched between BBC and ITV.

We were on a lot in the late 70's early 80's I remember a Plymouth game, Swansea home, Bury (not the 8-0), several derbies, and a few FA cup games were featured on the Big Match.

We were on Match of the day a lot too, against the likes of Watford in 79-80, they nearly always covered one lower league game.
