Loasds of people always bang on about the number of foreign players in England since the premiership, but who would you say were the best before the prem era - regardless of the level of football? Doesn't have to be just Swindon, although Ossie Ardiles and Dave Mitchell would have to be in there!

In the early 1980s two dutch players were signed by Bobby Robson when he was manager at Ipswich, great players and probably the start of the foreign influx to our leagues.
Arnold Muhren and Frans Thijssen

Here is a little list of some totally crap foriegn imports in the top division, not sure how many have been in the Premiership...possibly Taibi I think but otherwise I think they were pretty much all pre premier days and all were in the name of the last player on the list "DIRE"!
Massimo Taibi - Man Ure Sergie Rebrov - Spurs Carlton Palmer - Sheff Weds Claudio Marangoni - Sunderland Ramon Vega - Spurs Alberto Tarantini - Brum Marco Boogers - West Ham Andrea Silenzi - Nottm Forest Tomas Brolin - Leeds Ally Dia - Southampton
