If you have Sky TV you can get Sky 16meg for a tenner or 8meg for a fiver! Or 2meg for free!

Hmm you obviously ignored the bit where I said I don't have sky I think I'm going to go with NewNet or back to Freedom2Surf. I don't fancy the costs combined with long contracts of other ISPs

Zen are good, reliable, monthly contract with good monthly service. Unfortunately they are rather expensive.

What kind of problems are you getting with Plus then Si?
I've been with them for a year now and I've had no problems at all.

I have TalkTalk and would not reccomend them, their Customer Services is shit, and the broadband seems at times to be up and down like a hoars drawers, last couple of months it has been fine, but previously to that it was extremely poor, forever not being able to get connected for hours I put a complaint in and they have never bothered to respond to it either, if I could be bothered I would change providers, but it is too much like hard work !!

I have been with most suppliers over the last few years and have ended up back with BT as they offer the best service for a pretty affordable rate, with the introduction offer its great.
BUT
BEWARE
Read all the small print on FUP (Fair Usage Policy) they have you by the short and curlies if you use do a lot of downloading.
AOL unlimited is totally shit and limits you to under 30gb per month.
Sky broadband is around 10gb per month
BT is nearer 80gb per month
There is no such thing as totally unlimited broadband, bear this in mind when siging up for super fast speed broadband as after a few days you will be well over your limit for downloading for the month and then you will have your broadband capped at peak times which will limit your downloading to about 100kbp.
I use vast amounts of downloads and AOL had me capped for 6 months without even telling me, I presumed the connection was just shit.
BT on the other hand have not capped me...as yet...and I regularly download in excess of 100gb per month.

I'm also on BT and never had any problems. But you're right, they're far from the cheap option

I've used Virgin for the past four years, no problems. £18/Unlimited/upto 8 mmmbops. But then again I've got a Dell laptop, so I know nothing.

Been with NTL/Virgin for 6 years and apart from them cutting me off when they were supposed to take away the TV service, I have not had any problems. Speeds are good enough to cope with larger downloads and swift browsing, even over wireless. Costs the same as BT, but you don't have the lottery of how close to the Exchange you are (which seems to be the norm for most of the ADSL lines). But if you don't want cable, then ignore this post.

i was with BT for 2 years but couldn't justify why i paid £25pm for 8meg when i could get double that for £10pm with Sky.
both have been brilliant and customer service is really good. never once had a problem with BT but couldn't justify paying the money
