FSF campaign against Prem overseas

This is worrying to me:

The Football Association has told Fifa it has serious reservations over the Premier League's proposal to play additional top-flight games abroad.

The reason that I find it worrying is why oh why do the FA feel the need to approach FIFA about the situation.

I thought that the FA where the immediate governing body ALL English football.

Has the Premier League really become that powerful that the FA have no longer jurisdiction?

For the same reason they didn't immediately come out and say NO to this proposal when it was first made and the same reason they caved in over the PL being formed in the first place - they're terrified if they try to actually regulate the game as they're supposed to, the big clubs will take their toys and form a breakaway SuperLeague. World Soccer League anyone?
