dont let the Swiss goal stop people from noticeing my Turd Grip post  :x

I noticed it, just can't think of a reply though. Maybe we should just expand this to managers in general otherwise this little side game could be very short lived.

i was only 3 months old at wc '90, but after reading books and looking at highlights and shit like that it seems we were lucky to get to the semi's. A truly world class team doesn't need a last minute goal to beat belgium, or two penaltys to beat cameroon.

And euro 96 i can't really comment on again, but from what i can tell we only played really well once, against holland. And we were at home too.

You asked, I answered, last four in both competitions.
Not even qualified this time and not likely again if we play like this.

So when we thrashed the favourites Holland 4-1 we were lucky.
We outplayed Germany in the world cup in the semi, definitely the best side in the competition, lost on penalties again.

didn't win though. Capellos a winner, and WILL get us to at least a final. With a full strength team, and learning to play the capello way more will bring us success

A world class England won the world cup after a 0-0 draw with France, a lucky win against a better Argentina with 10 men, a very competitive 2-1 win against Portgual, a disputed goal against Germany in the final.
They are remembered as the best we ever had, Chewey Mint.
