I just don't buy the line that you can love football or love rugby, but not both.  I love this time of year.  Football at 3pm, England vs Wales at 4.30pm.  Fantastic.

It's going to be a really open competition this year.  France putting out a very young side, so they'll be doing well to win it again.  England in with a shout, I think.

Not that excited this year as Scotland will be gash (again), give me the early 90's any time, decent town side, decent Scotland footie side, decent Scotland rugby side......

I based my stag weekend two years ago on Forest vs STFC and then watching Scotland vs England in the rugby in a Nottingham pub.  Left the City Ground at 5pm shell shocked with most of my mates saying 'Never mind, at least we'll win the rugby.'  You know the rest.

As sporting weekends go, that one was a calamity (from where I'm standing).  And ofcourse, my Scottish father in law felt duly obliged to mention all this in his speech at the wedding.

That was fucking ace that match 40 minutes of english attack, Ben Cohen not taking that chance, then second half Scotland dominated!!!  So glad I gave the forest match a miss (as I was due to go with a forest fan from Twekesbury - so it would have been a nightmare journey home).

All I hope is that England finish above Scotland, living with 2 Scots, 1 a staunch Nationalist, it is always a relief when they struggle.

Gloucester play Munster in the Heiniken Cup quarters and there are loads of Munster fans here, going to buy a Gloucester shirt (my old man is a fan) for the game. If Munster win I am in for a slagging as the Irish hate the English more than the Scots I would say!
