According to SSN has been left out of the squad for the forthcoming game against Switzerland. Capello said due to lack of match fitness.

Good.

Unfair for him to walk into the team having not played a competitive match for 10 weeks or whatever it is. Id have Bentley in instead.

Agree with what you say Tans  and no he does not deserve to be in the team .

Part of me though thinks in a friendly with unlimited subs it would be a nice gesture to even bring him on with 1 min left.

Did not think i would ever say this but over the last 10 years with everything he has given the country i just think he deserves his 100th england cap .

think he deserved a start .. even if only for 45 minutes .. for his 100th cap and to say goodbye really ...

his own fault in a way tho .. surely he could have signed for Arsenal on loan where he is training with them .. couldve filled in for Eboue whilst he is in Africa

One problem there though Fatbury, to go on loan, his club have to agree to it.

LA Galaxy wouldn't let him, although they were happy enough to let him train there.

Gutted for Becks, To be fair he has done a lot for England and is probably the only player who looks to care about playing for England and does not take it forgranted. I hope he gets his 100th cap he deserves it then say goodbye. He could have come on for 5 minutes at the end crowd could chant "one david beckham" and that be the end of it and the end of his england career as we do need to move on.

There is still no player who is more influencial for Becks for England however his time has passed.

I cannot believe he is still being considered, well past his best.
He will get to 100 caps - not because he is now any good but for the circus of media that follows him around

As the stats proved when MacLaren 'experimented'. No one on the right wing was able to do anything. Becks comes back, crosses come in with quality and we start to score. Apart from Bentley, most of the alternatives, when played for England, are a bit like Shakes.

Beckham still deserves to be in the squad on ability alone.

Becks should demand a loan to a Premiership team like Fulham or soemthing, will help keep Fulham up and be central to Wembley etc as well as keeping up his match fitness.

He hasn't played a competitive game for a lot longer than that - he's been playing in the MLS remember  Cheesy

Not about what Beckhams done now though its about what he has done in the past, the effort, desire and passion he has shown for the national team over the past 10 years is an example to all of those other big time charlies who just turn up and are no where near the standard they play at for there clubs.

I thought after the past Capello would feel he owed Becks the swan song goodbye.  He should give him the 100th cap and then move him out the squad, there is a time to acknowledge respect and this was it.

We all know Bentley is playing great and he will have plenty of opportunities in the coming years so I am sure we could have left him out for just this one friendly, bit dissapointed by Capello.
