Feel a bit of a dumdum asking this, but I'm picking up a car tomorrow that needs taxing. Whenever I've renewed car tax before I've had the form from the DVLA, but I won;t have that this time - so do I just go to a post office with a V5 and MOT form?

thanks

you also need insurance, or a cover note - if you buy car from a dealer you can usually get them to sort it out for you.

You'll need an insurance certificate as well or cover note.

I wanted a golf but my holiday to Oz kind of cut my budget a bit! I bought a Leon in the end, part exchanged with my megane for 4k and 12 months warranty. It's five years old and done 30,000. good for the mileage I do.

I've just had  to tax my motor, and the useless cunts at Royal Mail, lost my renewal form   (I phoned DVLA  they said it had been despatched, but probabaly ended up somewhere like Chipping Norton.)

So they said just take log book, MOT and insurance....I think if you're giving them money then they're generally happy.....you can also do it on line, but must wait up to 5 days for a disc.

Did mine online last week, turned up two days later. Which was impressive.

Good choice Juddie, I've got an Ibiza - very low mileage too, runs like a dream - VW basics but not paying the badge premium.

Doing it online is dead easy and very quick.

I'd recommend it to all you technophiles
