Jenas has been on form recently.

I'm not a fan of Jenas but he's been in great form for Spurs recently and for that you can't ignore him.

Green should have been in the squad instead of Kirkland.

You can, like this:

Bowyer should've done everyone a favour and beaten the fuck out of him as well

I watch a lot of Spurs games, and Jenas is indeed frustrating. At present he's playing like one of the top English midfielders, and therefore should be in the squad. Unfortunately, you can almost guarantee that in 2 months time he could be playing like Matt Hewlett

If Capello is going to base some of his selections on current form rather than just reputation, I've got no problem with that.

It'll be a familiarisation process with his managerial style to start with, but perhaps with a foreigner coming in again there are no preconceptions about "big names"

Based on current form I still can't understand why Kirkland has been picked over Green though as I think Green definitely has the edge.  All in all though I agree with Nev.

I've come to the conclusion Rob Green is actually Scottish and cant play for England......its the only explination.

On current form Green is the most inform English goal keeper and has been for some time.

I really have no idea why people choose to scapegoat Lampard when pretty much the whole team were fucking awful under McClaren, Lampard was one of the few who had a decent game against Croatia, only him Crouch and possibly Beckham played well.

He has scored 70 goals from midfield in the last 3 and a bit years but supposedly he's complete shite? Be serious.

He's not shite, that's obvious. He just doesn't do the business in an England shirt. If we spent 90 minutes laying the ball off to him 20 yards out maybe he would, but that's not how the team plays so he looks lost in there imo

Gutted for Agbonlahor getting injured, would have liked to see him get a chance.

Defoe called up instead now.........interesting.

Defoe is quality....great goal scoring record, will bang loads in for Pompey, and England given a chance,Kirkland is poor but to be honest ive lost all interest in friendlies....rather watch the under 19s!

Nah, there is a reason Sven took an untested embryo to the WC instead of Defoe.

He'll be a good club plaer but will have to improve significantly to convince me  he is international quality. Playing regularly is a good start!
