http://forum.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2674IF true I would see this as a massive backward step for the lad and I am slightly dissapointed we did not try harder to sign him. Whats the plan B because watching a strikeforce of Paynter, Corr , Ashikodi and Sturrock for the rest of the season does not fill me with much excitement and I am sure none of the defenses in League 1 will be quaking in their boots ,lets just hope AF can outbid them at the 11th hour.

Who's to say we didn't try hard enough to sign him? Cox, as we know would be an excellent signing for us, but just because we had it on his say that he wanted come to means jack shit. I'd rather he would come to us but i'm sure there are other targets we're looking at IF he isn't a town player come the end of the month.

Am I the only Town fan that doesn't think the sun shines out of SC's behind? Yeah he's a good player, but he's no world beater.
I did enjoy him winding up Phillips against Rovers but I honestly don't think we should pay silly money for the bloke.

If its 200,000 as widely stated,I dont think that's "silly money".He's worth 250k of anyone's dosh I reckon. That's less than we payed for Jason Drysdale!

At 21 he could turn in to a very good player in a few years.
Hey ho, we had a go but if he feels better off at Northampton so be it.
They (Nothampton) did previously say they would break their transfer record for the 'unnamed premiership striker'. Don't know what that is, but upwards of £150k is not cheap. Also we have no idea whether we matched there offer or not if it is Cox).

agree with jan to a point.but losing him to another club in league 1 would ask questions of all concerned imo.ie-differences in offers made for the player, contract length, etc, etc. going to a club 35-45 mins down the road, done well for,and made it clear they want to sign is the more attractive.surely?

If it turns out to be less than 250k I just cant understand why (A) We didnt make a bigger effort to get him and(B) why he didn't want to come

So he'll score on Saturday for them no doubt :-))( I really hope we have a second option lined up but it doesn't even look like we are going to sign anyone before Thursday really. Oh well.

Interesting enough just today Northampton have concluded talks with the Council to develop a Hotel with firm NBC.
The owners (Cardoza family) splashed a hell of a lot of cash a while ago, re-structured costs last year due to a lack of progress on the development front but today’s announcement could see the old purse strings loosened.

I love how cobblers1 has appeared to have gone onto thisis not to gloat, but to ask a question as if we'd know NTFC's business - Maybe I should go on their website and ask whether anyone knows if Anzite is leaving STFC

I will not believe anything until any deal is done. But one thing I will say is that IF he goes to Northampton, it must be down to one thing - money, because they are a nothing team, (and now they will beat us on Saturday)
