I agree there are no exceptional sides Dell, all I'm saying is we have been a typical inconsistent mid table side, and I can't see this changing between now and the end of the season. All we need is a striker, thats it ... The goalkeepers we have are as good as any in this league, defensively we are above average, midfield ok, even though not that creative, up front at present (just a typical inconsistent bunch as you state). Before Swansea beat us 2-1 at their place they were lying about seventh or eighth, look at them now, scoring for fun.

Can anyone explain why pook played wide instead of roberts?? i agree with moving jpm inside, but don't fucking put pook on the wing, he isnt renowned for his pace, trickery and delivery is he??
any away point is ok, but if we are even thinking of pressuring the top 6 away to a team struggling should be a victory!
Also, ashikodi instead of corr...............strange one, at least now with paynter suspended we can see corr and moses together, which should now be our first choice partnership

from the OS:
There was a tactical switch for Town with McGovern employed in central midfield with Pook moved into a wider position.
"I had a chat with Budgie this week and we felt we needed slightly more possession in the central midfield area so J-P came in and played there, with Michael Pook in a wider position.
"Crewe are a very good passing side and we felt we had to play simular to that. Pooky has a good engine and we felt he could get forward easier from that position.

Yeah, so jpm moves inside to increase our creativity and possession in the middle, but why pook out side......................

Got back about an hour ago, that is it for me for a while I am sick of using my only day off a week to race up a motorway watch a team not understand simple positional play and basically not want it.
If it wasnt for Brez today we would of lost.
Pook played around the centre circle mostly while his position was left open which caused us massive issues. Pook is not good enough for this level and needs to be moved on. I have backed him but its time to give up and become a model or work in a poncy shop or something similarly gay.
Vincent had a shaky game but then made up for it with some decent blocks. Roberts coming pon gave us some width but we were unbalanced due to Malpas doing some crazy system with thinking Pook is a winger.
Sending off was silly but Paynter doing a clap to away and home fans was probably the highlight of the day.
Shit game and reminded my lot of a reserve match as teh tempo was so slow.
So fucked off with this team at present, if you play put the effort in. We miss Easton so much as we have no idea in the center

Pook played alright, wasn't one of the worst players on the pitch.
We just lacked the extra ten percent today, and looked bit tired after the Barnet game.
Billy wont win his appeal, Crewe players deliberately tried to wind him up all game and he reacted.
To be fair, I would've taken a draw before todays game.

I agree with most of Busheys comments.
Pook after being moved to the right consistently drifted back into CM, thus leaving us with effectively no right winger. Fuck knows how Miguel was supposed to get the ball upfield with Pook constantly out of position and no-one to pass it to!
JP - back on the wing please with Easton back in middle as soon as hes fit. JP didn't give us more possession in the centre at all and bad choice IMO.
We pretty much looked like we had nothing going forward and they seemed to be jogging around, not running at players, not challenging, basically not doing anything.
Yes a point away from home with ten men is ok however the performance was way below par considering Malpas etc. have been banging on everyday in the papers how the playoffs are a target and possible etc.
Im frustrated as I know we are capable of so much more.

So did our 'new signings' look unfit and uncapable or did they look promising?

Its pretty hard to say as the team as a whole didnt play at the best of their ability.
McNamee looked handy when he got the ball but he did seem to get pushed off it a few times. Hes got the build of Sean Wright Phillips and does look quick and I think its a bit early to say his capabilities yet but has a bit of promise about him.
Moses worked hard to win balls but we looked pretty poor going forward, mainly due to the lack of the midfield presence/service to strikers. If we had played properly through the middle of park like we have seen in previous games then perhaps moses would have had more chance. Again, need more time and Id like to see him in the team when Eastons back as Im hoping he will help to stabilise things and get back to some proper passing football.
