I've just been thinking about it, who in our squad would we have actually been confident about scoring a penalty..............I can't think of anyone. Goal scoring has been a problem most of the season and that doesn't look like it's gonna change anytime soon. A cup run would of been ace but as it is our season is likely to fizzle out into a season of midtable obscurity now Don't accept all this concentrate on the league rubbish tonights result is likely to effect us over the coming weeks and has probably shot to bits the already fragile confidence of our attacking players. Paynter, Roberts, Aljofree and Comminges prob would score penalties

At least Malpas was honest in his assesment and said we didn't deserve to win and he learned a few things
We have to pick ourselves up now and beat Crewe to keep our season on track, we are now 8 games unbeaten in 90 mins so use that as a positive and let's hope we get a reaction from the players wanting to make up for the penalty misses Aye ... onwards and upwards

Umm Roberts, Corr, Peacock as they have taken them and scored them previously

Take your point about the confidence factor Glos - missing 4 in a row is piss poor. But the great thing is STFC are moving on, none of the new guys we've bought could play tonight which would have made a difference. I may be an arse but I'm still feeling the wave of relief that Fitton has taken over, the old lot have gone and we stand a chance of getting our club back. Bangkok was right, we should have won this the first time round or failing that in the 90 minutes when we missed about 5 chances and their goalie made 2 great saves. This time next year we'll have a much better team, a properly run club with a set of accounts that bear scrutiny from anyone, no debt and hopefully plans for a better ground. Given all that I say Barnet Shmarnet

What I mean though is that there is no one in our squad who you class as our regular penalty taker. Roberts is the closest and he's eratic at best as I remember him missing a few last year. When we get a penalty I tend to look away at games as I don't ever feel confident with any of our players.
