But what a summer that was, glorious weather, Euro 96 being played at home, three lions on a shirt, time booked of work so as not to miss any England match, THAT goal by Gazza and the penalty shoot out heartbreak.
What a summer that was.

I was only 12. I don't remember much, which is weird as I don't think I was drunk. I don't remember much about it either....there was a really good summer somewhere about then, when it didn't rain and all the grass was parched.
