It depends how good Kanyuka is though doesn't it?

If he is quality,  then what would your back four be?

I don't think I'd touch the full backs to be honest.  So it's a straight 2 from 3 in the centre half dept.  I think Hasney would have to play, as the "experienced" centre half, so I suppose Ifil or Pat would have to warm the bench.

Nah man, let's not have a system change.  Tinkering with the formation is a dangerous game.

I think we should play a wingback (comminges) on the right but a classic fullback+winger down the left (vincent+zaboub/mcnamee). That way we free up a player who can do what he wants.

Woot.

It will certaibnly provide some excellent competition at centre back though, who could have imagined a year or so ago that we would have a player that could keep Jerel out of the team ?

FGS... Kanyuka's had one game and now he's being given the freedom of the borough! Let's have some more pudding before we elect him player of the year. If he is as good as first impressions appear and stays relatively injury free it can only be good for the squad to have strength in depth. As it happens it seems that a vacancy crops up every time Maurice gets a potential selection headache. Latest could be Hasney's concussion.

I don't think anyone is giving him hero status, merely stating there there could be some real competition at CB now so it keeps them all on their toes not wanting to lose their spot

Hasney does not have concussion, he needed stitches in a head wound above the eye which is why he went off - I remember Taylor needing stitiches, he went off had it done and came back on, not these days though !

Kanyuka still isnt match fit and i would expect to see hasney and ifil resume their partnership on saturday. However, when Pat is fully fit, Hasney needs a break as he is carrying a few niggles, give him a week or two off and see how the other two play together.

Personally, Pat and Ifil seem to be quite similar, and would both require a solid experienced pro talking them through the game, but it now gives us much better cover and competition as opposed to Blackburn being the third centre half

Ifil can't carry on having an experienced pro talking him through games forever though. The amount of times he's had to clear up after an aljofree mistake this season  i think if the situation happened ifil and kanyuka could definatley play together, if kanyuka is as good as people say he is
