this idea was mooted back at the start of last summer and a few were interested - who fancies looking for a side in the swindon area?

nets will be starting soon so we can hit the ground running

I feel so left out nowadays. Haven't played cricket for 2 seasons now!

Might try and get back into it at Goatacre this year

Gents...

Nets. I've spoken to the chap at Dauntseys school, although as I type it's dawned on me some of you are coming from further away than Swindon (Dauntseys is in Lavington which is basically Devizes)... I can have nets on a week night any time from March. Facilities are excellent there, and it would only be about £1.50 to £2.00 a head per session (up to 2 hours).

Like I say, it might be too far away and I'll enquire about places for some pre-season nets in Swindon... but just a thought.

based on nothing other than 'what i've heard' swindon is a bit of soulless club and you might do well to steer clear. most clubs around the level of swindon prefer to play a mixture of experienced old gits and talented young players in their sunday cricket. it might be worth your while trying to find a smaller 'village' team that would value more for your presence than your ability. anyway, that's my 2 penneth

Nah, don't give up. Though Swindon might not be the best club for a bunch 'social' cricketers to start playing as it is a club where the emphasis is on performance. Lots of avenues out there though.
