Sorry if it is a stupid question but how do you play a torrent file - do you need some sort of player?

Download a torrent manager. i use Utorrent.

http://www.utorrent.com/

Then when you find a torrent on a site it will be opened by the Utorrent manager which will then download it for you.

When it's complete you can watch the film/tv show, etc. via Media player or whatever it is you use.

I find www.mininova.org the best for finding torrent's. One reason being is the the comments for each torrent let you know if the file work'd or not.

The torrent client I use is utorrent which (Depending on the torrent) allows me to download to my max bandwidth.

A good movie torrent I can usually download in 30-45 mins.

But of course i do not i do not encourage the illegal downloading of films.  I for one always pay top whack in hmv for some shit i'll only ever watch once and then lend it to a mate and never see it again.

It is at present, but i got US imports. There was some sort of mess up with early Blu ray region coding so certain Import blu rays work on UK machines. I got the first two Terminator movies for about £24 for the pair. Fucking bargain.
