Last night about 9 o'clock, my street has a power cut.
10 o'clock the electricity comes back on
half 10 the electricty comes back on

7 o'clock today the electricity goes off again ffs, only just came on again now. We get on average a power cut every two months, fecking shocking surface

On the flip side, it does make you realise just how much you depend on electricity nowadays.

Powercut's are common in Thailand, sometime's as often as once a week, usually during the hottest time of year due the power surge because of Air-Con usage Ect.

But you are right, without light, refridgerator's tv, ect. WTF would we do? play cards sat next to a fire?

We've just changed from British Gas to Southern Electric as it saves us £60.

Takes me back to the golden days of the early 70's when the loathed Tory government of Heath was brought down.

Striking miners and power station workers caused regular disruption of the power supply....Heath rightly thought it was a question of who ran the country called an election and lost.  Cheesy

Power cuts were ace though....what could you do...get some candles on, invite a bird round, bottle of wine or two some  :doobie: job was a good un.

I remember power cuts when i was a kid - had one for about 2 weeks once, we always got out the candles and gas lamps and played cards. Eating cold beans and bread rolls. Quite enjoyed it in a way, blitz spirit and all that.
