My mate got turned away for being 'too drunk' last season against Bury (at home). He'd had 3 pints of IPA and was not drunk. The stewards made him go get a coffee and then let him in 10 mins after kick off. I'm certain they wanted to pick on someone. They'd searched all us lads before letting in the ones who'd had 5 pints of Stella. Rediculous.
I hope Fred's ban is overturned. Perhaps you could suggest they speak to Yeovil police for any reported incident? I know others were there that had been drinking but I wouldn't make a point of this because they will just think they are making an example of anyone that has a few to drink before the game and dares to question his refused entry.

the football ground is private property they can ban who ever they want. no-one has an right of entry to anywhere apart from maybe the house of parliment. If a pub can refuse you entry without reson do not not think a football club can do the same? everyone asussume they have the rght to do everything when in fact you have very little rights.
if they wanted to be asrey they can ban everyone who wore a grey top!! think yourself lucky that they are giving the chap a chance to see why he has been banned and to give his side of the story.
