Imagine the extra revenue they would get by selling Alcohol in the town end!  Isn't there a reason why they can't do this though?

Something to do with a law about not being allowed to consume alcohol in view of the pitch (ie: the corner). I think.

To me, the Town End is very similar to the away end at Hartlepool and  I consumed alcohol in the corner of their away end in full view of the pitch last season.  Is it not something to do with the numpty's at the council that have to grand a license or something?

No just curious

Does that mean you're pie curious?

The license situation at the CG, has something to do with Arkell's.  In the very early days they helped out with funds, for ground improvements etc....and in return insisted that beer shouldn't be sold in the ground, so as not to compete with their pubs.

I remember I had some of jim's homemade pie at Chesterfield I think it was. They were proper pies, bloody lovely they were.

Jim if you read this, get another batch on...
don't think they were homemade, i believe they were from a bakery in scouseland or something.

it was chesterfield away indeed, very chilly night just after christmas.

jim's a legend Cool

Do Walsall do them?

Cant beat a good pie with a gutful of ale  Beers

I seem to remember Walsall did every pie known to man as the company that makes them sponsor a stand or something.

You've got to get in quick for the Baltis in the Arkells

on the subject of catering...

i have recently noticed that we are now selling proper hot-dogs, i.e. bockwursts, and not burnt sausages.

as this has been implement pre-takeover then i must give a hearty thank you to the previous board. this is very much appreciated. a gift from them, to me, if you will.

what i would like the new board to do, though, is to introduce ketchup and mustard dispensers as those little sachets just don't do the job.
