I can't see Harry Redknapp (the bookies favourite) taking the job, he's settled as down near Bournemouth.   Last time I was down there my mate showed me his house down on the water, blimin lovely.  I wouldn't move up north to take that job for all the money in the world.  Lovely pad.

He got his advantage by being the first to really go in for all the sports  science stuff compared to other clubs. With that, and some useful wheeling and dealing in the loans market he allowed Bolton to punch way over their weight for a few years.

Trouble is, others have cottoned on to the same methods, and his advantage hs been eroded.

Combine that with a bunch of players unused to him as a manager, and a chairman who thinks the fans know more than he does, and it was a recipe for disaster.

If Newcastle had been winning scrappily, there's no way this would have happened, it's just that they're not winning, full stop.

There are at least 3 worse teams in the division, that's their only comfort.

the table says there are 9 worse teams.

luducirous saking IMO. I dont really know what Newcastle as a club were expecting after 6 months with him in charge - challenge the top 4?  they need to pull their collective heads out of their arses, they are a mid table side with a few good players some of whom are constantly injured.

Massive club my arse. We've won far more over the past 40 years than they have.

Not ludicrous at all young colin . He was not appointed by ashley who in turn has given him half a season and has seen enough to determine that he is not what he wants in charge of his club like we have said about fitton he has the right to do that.

Added to the fact that all his signings have turned out to be shit and allardyce has gone asking for more money I don’t think I can blame Ashley

On a separate note 6 out of those 9 teams below Newcastle have also changed there managers

Exactly! Half a season to turn around a club that has been in decline then full scale dissaary for the best part of a decade. And they are still 11th!

Of course its Ashleys club so he can basically do what he likes, I dont particually like Allerdyce as a man either, but his record at Bolton was superb considering they get some of the smallest crowds in the league.

Look at all the teams between the big 4 and Newcstle currently. All have had significant investment and the managers have been given time and money to put THEIR side together before being judged.   NUFC is a joke of a club, I hope they go down so I can laugh my tits off at them

Its this that annoys me about him which I suppose is not really his fault but everyone bangs on about how well he done at Bolton with hardly any cash  but seriously when you look at it the following players were not on peanuts were they and the majority were signed on frees so obviously the reason he did not spend big fees were because the wages took up most of his budget

Dioff
Anelka
Speed
Campo
Djorkaeff (whatever)
Okocha

That’s a big wage bill I would imagine

a stupidly high percentage of allardyces signings at bolton made 1 appearance or less. Questions how good he is at wheeling and dealing really if he can get it wrong so many times

Really hope Redknapp doesn't take the job, he's one of the very best managers in the premiership but it would be a big mistake. They have completely unrealistic expectations and Portsmouth have a better team anyway.

thats what I was thinking. I wouldn't mind Klinsmann - play nice attacking football-  but that would be totally unlikely
