meant to post this saturday evening - here are nicholas watkin's boardroom notes from the barnet programme, or an excerpt at least:

"The Andrew Fitton Consortium continues to successfully navigate its way through the remaining elements of the transaction, the Christmas break tends to slow things down but the January 11th 2008 "completion date" is still very much the target we are aiming for. Everyone remains committed to achieving this date and we eagerly await the moment when the new Board can truly begin the programme of re-vitalisation at STFC. Within a short period of time, after the completion of the transaction, your the Board (sic) plans to publish its initial "Ten Point Manifesto", highlighting the key topics that will be the subject of our early attention. With a fair wind and good fortune, we would hope to publish the Ten Point Manifesto in the programme notes that accompany the January 19th 2008 home fixture with Nottingham Forest."

sounds interesting if you ask me. in addition to fitton's long-winded explanation of malpas' appointment, this is an unprecedented era of pre-planning and clarity from the board!
