Just back from seeing the Manics at Edinburgh Corn Exchange! What a gig!! Superb stuff.

I used to be a hardcore Manics fan, went to see 'em at Birmingham NEC in '02. They were pretty good. I'm gutted that they're playing loads of tunes from The Holy Bible on the current tour, if I'd known that I'd have gone to Bristol or something Sad

They're wank now.

Perhaps you should drive to Bristol and see Teenage Fanclub instead.

It was quite funny, half the crowd were the modern bunch, and the other half were the old school crowd. The Holy Bible stuff was amazing, they ended the gig with Motorcycle Emptiness and Motown Junk and the crown went ballistic!!!!

Motorcycle Emptiness - top tune, one of my all time favourites songs.

I saw them at Carling Apollo in April, and somewhere else in London last year (can't remember) and they finished with that and Design for life.

New stuff isn't as good as the early material, last album was some of their best stuff for a while, got good write ups but didn't sell well.

I always though Removables was a bit of a gem.

Only ever liked a handful of their songs to be honest.

One of the few truly outstanding tracks on Everything Must Go, the Nirvana influence in the lyrics is very obvious which is no surprise as the band openly admitted that Richey wrote the lyrics whilst on a Nirvana binge following Kurt's death.

Listening to that track as we speak. I may sound thick, but what does 'All removables, are transitory' actually mean? Oops

A John Lennonesque 'imagine no posessions' perhaps?

That was my interpretation.
