I'd prefer a slightly intelligent chimp to be honest.

Remember before the double promotion he managed to get them relegated as a player manager.
Not at all rated by the Carlisle fans, and felt that the team overachieved to get the second promotion from League 2 (ie were lucky).
He's a league 2 manager at best, and we're looking forward not back please...

Martin Ling has to be first choice, Mickey Adams isn't a bad second choice as he has done well although I think he is better at struggling teams, really not sure who else stands out, Fitton seems to want someone that has acheived something and is hungry to achieve something

Would Billy Davies (ex Preston & Derby) drop to this level ?

it's a good shout, but i think billy davies is likely to be lining up jobs like hibernian, fulham, and perhaps even scotland to be honest.

also, i read somewhere that cotterill has applied for the brentford job.

fitton needs to speak to him ver soon as he definitely fits all the criteria of having a track record.

not only that, but he is a local too.

He simply isn't anyway near the class of manager we should be looking at.

to be honest we're not the sort of club that's gonna be able to attract real class managers

Not sure what you mean.  The last two we attracted were Wise and Sturrock...and that was with monkeys in charge at board level.  With Fitton's consortium in place, I think we'll have a decent enough selection of candidates to choose from.

That's interesting because i don't think he actually applied for the job here (as far as we know) but then again apprantly he hates us according to Cheltenham fans

why not?

like ardiles said, we managed to attract two high-profile managers in a year and that was with a bunch of fucking morons in charge.

ling or nijholt for me.

i've forgotten who this thread is about.

An Orient fan on another forum reckons there were strong rumours today amongst the Orient fans that Ling is on his way here very soon e.g. within the next 2 weeks.
