I play for my works first 7 on a thursday night!

Back to topic, perhaps a figurehead like teh Don could be brought back as club president, we jhaven't had one since the day s of club legend Cecil Green, a nice ambassador to role out, but no business acumen required, a role that in the past might have suited Wee Willie, or SSW if he's sold the club with dignity and decorum some years ago.

I agree Matty

Basically what Wee Willie should have been doing !

But The Don, would undertake it with so much more respect

mike spearman sort of fulfills the president role in some respects. i hope that the club allow him to continue as per usual under new ownership.

john trollope should also be given far more recognition for his achievements at the club

hear hear, santa.  Spearman does seem to always be around in the background, and perhaps under the new regime the club could perhaps creat some Presidential / Ambassadorial roles within the structure for guys like Spearman, Rogers and Trollope.

Fucking spot on. It was scandalous the way he was sacked after 37 years service and the way he has been ignored by the club since. Would be very good PR for the new lot to recognise him in some way.

Trollope I agree with 100%. How our directors at the time could allow McMahon to sack a bloke with his record at the club is beyond me. I have a suspicion that Spearman was either our chairman or at least a board director at the time, which tells its own story.

A clean sweep is needed. Spearman has been licking Diamonds arse knowing full well of the havoc Diamonds' been causing, but turning a blind eye to keep up his cosy free-loading position in the board room.

We need cunts like him like a hole in the head.

I'd tend to agree with the above.....Spearman  for all his obvious commitment to the cause is taimted with the brush of the ancien regime.

Fitton in a recent interview was coy when Ed asked about the mystery backer(s)....saying something like he/they? were very busy people and wanted to remain in the background.  He also stated that the interview for new manager would involve himself, Watkins, Wray and A.N Other.

Dear old "Uncle" Mike Spearman was chairman until "overthrown" by Ricky Cunt in the McMahon days.  Mike was away for a few days and returned to the club to find out of the bloodless coup!  Since then he was worked tirelessly for the club behind the scenes, but I have to agree with the other sentiments, we need a fresh start with no connections to the recently departed regime.  Bye bye Ben, Sandy and Bob!

An interesting idea....it fits that bill.   I went to school with Francome, and to the best of my knowledge he's never been much of a fan.....although I recall an article when we played the scum, where some relo of his Stockley? was playing for them, and he said he'd have split loyalties.

I don't want any more ex jockeys though.
