Terry may be a very good Premiership player but he hasn't proved he can make the step up to international football, let alone be captain. I expect to be shot down here but Ledley King is a far superior player at international level. Terry is too dumb at international level - he gets dragged out of position, makes stupid rash challenges and doesn't actually do much leading.
In fact with him and Ferdinanad it really is a case of dumb and dumber.

Agree totally. As a person he is completely objectionable but he is a good footballer for 89 minutes of most games. He is also in a very small minority of individuals who actually make Scummer Rufus look quite articulate.

Terry's a funny old one because at times he can be immense and everyone sings his praises and then there are the times when he just loses control and goes round making mis-timed and often malicious challenges.  

And don't even get me started on him constantly getting right up in the ref's face and yelling and no doubt swearing his head off... Those ref's must have the patience of a saint cos i'd lamp him one  

I hope Capello strips him of the captaincy and gives it to Gerrard (drop Lampard all together - just doesn't do it in an Engalnd shirt).
