Best of a bad bunch, always kept his head above the parapet
I would have rather had seen others go before him

Good Luck to him, never had any issues with him. To me he has walked out with his head held high. He didn't bang on and take the fans for a ride. Genuinly a nice guy whenever I have spoken to him.

"Andrew will no doubt want to bring in his own management team. In his position, I would do the same and therefore now is the right time for me to move on"
I liked this bit I am not reading this as in most takeovers people bring in there own management team, I am reading this as Martyn saying with the cocks we have here behind the scenes I too would bring in my own management team. Good luck Starnes!

Good luck to him. He was the best of a bad bunch and fair play for stepping down and leaving with some dignity.

He didn't actually deny it did he? Just refused to comment. I certainly remember him saying a lot of them were close to resigning.

Wouldn't read too much into his thinking the deals on. As we know by now, all Diamandis has to do is pick up the phone to kill the deal.
As for Starnes, in hindsight, I feel for him working with the muppets he's had to. But the bloke was part of one of the poorest accounts teams in British accouting history. To find yourself past 40 and still answerable to Sandy Gray must take a concerted effort to do fuck all in your career for the preceeding 20 years.
