TOWN fans were given a glimmer of hope regarding their club's future this afternoon, following round-the-table talks between Andrew Fitton and the owners the Wills family.
Ramsbury businessman Fitton emerged from the lunchtime summit with Sir Seton Wills, son James and family advisor Mike Diamandis to tell the Swindon Advertiser only that "excellent progress'' had been made.
Fitton refused to elaborate further on the details of the meeting and declined to set a timeframe for any deal to be done, but was hopeful "it would not take a long time.''
The news hands renewed hope to the club's supporters, who reacted with dismay yesterday after Fitton revealed his bid to take control of the County Ground club was "dead.''

Come on fella's I know we shouldn't jump the gun, but this to me proves that Fitton wants this and he's trying his best to get a result. The story confirmed that Wills Sr and jr were there as was MD, which is something in itself. Well done AF and co!!!!
Fitton is coming across as a decent business man, and whilst there's still a long way to go, this is looking a hell of a lot better than this time yesterday.

I thought the takeover might have been completed today, surely there isn't the time for this to drag on? Time is on Fittons side. |
