That's exactly what I was wondering and now it is answered, seeing as previously Fitton had said he was prepared to wait as long as it takes. I am simply disgusted.

i can't quite understand how st modwen can demand money for something that doesn't exist. i believe paul posted quite an interesting analogy but i can't remember which thread it was in.

the last minute demand doesn't surprise me in the slightest. it's as if they've been stringing it out as long as possible before placing a ridiculous demand upon fitton forcing him to pull out, so they can try and blame him.

Seton Wills is going to be a hated man, surely he's hated as much as Diamandis now? he's greedy and he won't do what's best for the club, he said once before he had the clubs interests at heart, yeah whatever seton.

Like i said in another thread what if Seton Wills suddenly decided that he would pay the cva and other debts? the club would survive but this lot would still be here, would we really want that? do you think that wills would do this? i hope not because this lot have ruined our club and they would only do the same thing over again.

Didn't Diamandis admit in his last interview that he basically conned St Modwen out of the money saying it was 'lucky we got the money when we did as the development idea collapsed shortly after' or something along those lines.  He was actually bragging about it if I remember correctly

What's everyone moaning about - I think it's extremely generous of SSW to reduce his "last minute extra cost fee to £1.5m" from the normal £8m.

That's correct.....I think the bottom line is the club ifs finished in its present form......an economic boycott may hasten the end, but at least it will rid us of Newbury.   I think Fitton intimates it may then be possible to pick up the name STFC and run with it in another way.   Starting again lower down the pyramid is going to take a hell of a commitment from fans....
